Doubt Creeps In

Written by ykiki65 on September 27, 2008 – 8:45 am -

I have noticed that since beginning my positive affirmations, a huge amount of doubt has crept into my mind, too.

The good news about doubt is that it is a perfectly normal and necessary occurrence when one is attempting to shift his/her entire way of thinking.  Doubt is the only gauge we have to accurately measure whether the affirmations are working.

Think about it…how else can you know how you will react to negative situations with your new thought processes unless you are challenged by negative situations?  It is easy to float along and think happy thoughts when everything in your life is flowing in a positive direction.

Add a teaspoon of family drama, a pinch of stress at work and BAM!  You automatically begin your old ways of responding to problems.  You begin to doubt that you can continue with your positive mental attitude.  What a perfect time to forge ahead and prove to yourself that you can and will get through the tough times by maintaining your positivity!  You break through to the other side feeling better than ever.

Continue with your positive affirmations and surround yourself with friends and family who are upbeat and supportive.  Constantly praise yourself for not giving up and giving in to negativity.  It’s nothing but mind over matter.

Keep on keepin’ on!
